EXPO TNT GT2 ~
[Mexico City D.F. - Mexico]

back to Mexico for the third time to be special cosplay guest
at an anime convention. During TNT GT2 they held also
selections to pick the mexican pair who will represent Mexico
at World Cosplay Summit 2008.

2008
Mexico, here I am again. Now I could say to be almost at home
here, as that was my third time here stepping on mexican soil
and it's always a great emotion and pleasure to be back: people,
places and everything else always fascinates me but also being
there at Expo TNT: audience is warm as always and I
really feel like at home.
The airplane
trip that brought me to the other side of the globe went very
fast even that time, thanks to my easy sleep... I just need to
lean my ass on a plain seat and I can sleep for more than 10
hours straight, and in my everyday life I usually sleep 5 hours
per night more or less... We arrived at Mexico City
airport at late night and my dear Paula "Marmota", Mario and our
friends Kyle (admin at Cosplay.com) Ginny McQueen and Tristen Citrine (two american cosplayers). I and them
were guest of honour of that TNT edition takin place in
two days.
After a night awake, because of my old friend jet lag, Paula and
Mario had a wonderful gift for me: they took me the morning
after to visist the amazing National Museum Of
Antropology. They couldn't find a better present for me,
because of my passion for archeology that you should very well
know. I had a chance to finally see the famous Aztec Calendar: I
never imagined it could be so huge! An urban legend says that
this calendar hides the end of the world date, December 24th
2012... If it's true it's quite near, isn't it? Well at least I
will save buying Christmas presents that time! ;-) LOL.
Few hours later my cosplayer duty was already required: I had to
be present at the press conference that introduced the
convention to press. I spent 15 minutes as target for curious
questions by many people invited there: they made me dozens of
questions, mostly about a special anniversary for me that is
going on this year: 2008 is my tenth year of activity on the
cosplay scene. Well yes, 10 years are over since that cold
November 1998, when I made my first come up at an italian
convention... But I will talk about that later!
After
conference, usual photos with guests and interviewers (that are
always very kind and sweet to me! thank you!) I finally went to
sleep because next day convention was going to open!

February 2nd
2008
During the first convention day morning, before gates were being
opened to attendance, me, Ginny and Tristen Citrine took a quick
look to the place, where dealers were still preparing their
booths. Some quick purchase here and there and finally was time
to open TNT GT2. In a few minutes the place was packed with
people expecially in front of the stage where "guest of honour"
were going to be introduced and were I was presented for my
second time to Mexico City audience. Some quick question from
Alina, the presenter (always kind to me!), usual photos and then
it was time for the first of my three "meet and greet" sessions
where I signed many autographs and took photos with many
fans.
After that it was time for one of the best experiences of my
life: world official presentation of my DVD "DNA OF ANGEL - SOUL OF
DEVIL - FRANCESCA DANI 10 YEARS ANNIVERSARY DVD" !
Well yes, my DVD, after several months of tough work for just a
two persons team finally took life! It was so emotional to
finally have it in my hands but It was awesome as well to see
how many people was standing in line to get one copy of it or my
posters and get it signed by me! Definitely a fair reward after
so much work! We spent months going around Italy to shoot photos
and videos in several locations and I'm so happy about result
and people that liked it so much!
Then I was called to attend jury to give votes to the first
cosplay contest of 3 convention days: group cosplay. It wasn't
easy because everyone was really good (some of them very popular
over there) but jury's vote unanimously choosed the winner and I
was called on stage to give the award to the winners. It was
really emotional! ^^ |

February 3rd
2008
The second
convention day was the most engaging to me because my conference
was taking place and I was going to officially present my DVD to
the audience.
I woke up early to wear one of my "original costumes": this time
I decided to showcase one of my original creations, Lucifer, the angel of death (recently followed
by "Charon"),
created as main costume of my DVD "DNA Of Angel - Soul Of
Devil" also showed on its cover. After an autograph
session my conference was beginning and many people was
attending and asking many many questions on my career and my
future as cosplayer and netmodel. I've seen so much curiosity
about me and what I did in 10 years and also what I'm doing
right now, and it was pure pleasure to answer all this questions
and I won't deny that when Victor, founder of "Francesca Dani
Mexican Fan Club", took the microphone in his hands and started
his speech about how I was inspiration to his life with
beautiful words, it was really emotional to me and I was
starting to cry for real. I won't ever be tired of saying how
sweet and warm mexican people have been to me, they made me
laugh and cry for joy and that's to me all I could ask from the
best of audiences! |
February 4th
2008
Here we come to the last convention day once again. I was
wearing for the second time
after "WCS
ETAPA JBC BRAZIL" my Misa Amane costume, from Death
Note, that now is a very popular manga all around the world.
In a few hours selections were taking place to decide the
mexican pair that was flying to Nagoya to carry on mexican
cosplay pride and compete at World Cosplay Summit
2008, who was going to be picked? Pressure was really huge
on both cosplayers and judges that was going to write down votes
to get a final choice... It wasn't going to be an easy decision
for sure because of the high quality that guy's costumes were
showing
backstage...
But, before cosplayers came on stage to perform, earlier in the
morning and later in the afternoon I was attending other events
inside TNT GT2. First of all there was my press
conference/interview to promote my DVD where I was
asked to describe his contents, and tell something about all the
behind the curtains work about this big project, why I decided
to celebrate my 10 years as cosplayer with a DVD and every
anecdote about it. So much curiosity from media about the DVD
and I was glad to answer all their questions. After that I had a
new "meet & greet" session with the audience, I took lots of
photos with them and signed many autographs, many of them gave
me beautiful presents that I took home and I keep in my room and
that always remind me how kind mexican fans has been to me. A
special thanks from the bottom of my heart goes to Angel, the
boy who gave me his necklace that I used for
my "Modern
Geisha" photos! ^_- Thank you!
Only few time to shoot some pics in the main entrance of the
convention center with visitors and I got called backstage: the
so coveted event was going to start and I had to take place to
the juror's table! At my side there were some of TNT organizers
and Jimmy, TV Aichi representer, coming directly from
Japan!

With Tersa and
Alin's victory lights goes off on TNT GT2 stage... After all
that three days fun with my friends and all convention people it
was time to start to say goodbye to everybody with huge sadness.
Yes, every time that I come back here I leave a piece of my
heart in this city and between those wonderful persons that once
again, after almost 2 years, made me feel special and with huge
joy and wonder made me understand that all I did and I'm still
doing can really make someone happy.
And that was
the best gift I could ever ask in my
life...
Thanks to all of you from the bottom of my heart!
